Today we celebrated Culture day in Togher Boys’ NS. We are very proud of our diverse school community and it was great seeing all the countries and cultures represented by our students and parents. Some of our parents and students set up stalls in the halla to teach us all about where they come from. The boys got to learn interesting facts about countries, hear the variety of languages boys speak at home and got to taste all the delicious national cuisines.
The boys in junior and senior infants got to listen to nursery rhymes from Croatia, Poland, Turkey and Belarus.
To finish our celebrations we had some performances from Music generation and the boys in 4th and 5th class.
We would like to thank everyone who helped out and made today such a special day; all the parents who contributed, Ms Manning for organising and Ms Mangan for preparing the music. We would like to say a special thank you to Claire (English teacher for parents) who helped parents prepare and we want to wish her all the best in her retirement!
