The boys in Ms O’Dwyer’s class have been very busy over the past few weeks.
The boys all dressed up for Halloween in their lovely costumes and had a great day playing Halloween games before the midterm break. The boys in Ms McGloin’s class came down to visit our room and the boys really enjoyed listening to the stories the 4th class boys read for them. The junior infants loved the different stories and we are looking forward to working together again soon.

The boys have been working so hard over the past few weeks. They are busy learning new sounds and blending sounds together to make words. They have been learning how to form their letters correctly when they are writing and holding the pencil correctly. The boys became artists using a range of different mediums and have created some lovely artwork. They have made hedgehogs from clay, taken inspiration from Kandinsky by creating lovely circles using oil pastels and painting like Piet Mondrian using primary colours. We still found some time to play and have fun too! Take a look at our pictures to see what we have been getting up to!

The boys had a Lego workshop and had great fun constructing cars with motors. The boys had to work hard to follow the instructions and create their own car. They had lots of fun and were able to make their own Lego piece.

Yesterday the boys got to visit Tory Top library where we listened to the author JP Quinn read his book ‘The Bee at UCC’. He very kindly gifted the boys their own copy of the book.
The boys were joined at the library by their mums, dads and grandparents and everyone enjoyed a lovely morning reading some beautiful books. The boys love reading and we think it’s a great place to visit so we hope the boys and their families will make the library part of their weekly routine.
Thank you to Ms Manning for organising the trip and to the staff at Tory Top library for making us feel so welcome. Thanks also to the mums, dads, siblings and grandparents who took time out of their day to join us.
