Teddy Bear Hospital visit

Last week the boys from Junior and Senior Infants enjoyed a fantastic day out in UCC while visiting the Teddy Bear Hospital. This is an annual event hosted by the Medsoc students. It was a huge success and we were honoured to be invited. The boys brought their teddy bears to visit the doctor and there were a few serious ailments! The boys got to experience the hospital environment in a welcoming and fun way. There was a waiting room, treatment rooms and an exercise area. The boys had the opportunity to learn about medicine and the importance of keeping fit and healthy. They also got to become junior doctors while donning medical scrubs and exploring some medical equipment. In the treatment rooms, the medical students were on hand to help the very sick teddies. There were X-ray machines, plasters and bandages available to treat the patients. It was a fantastic experience for the boys and it helped to ease anxieties about hospital visits and trips to the doctors. We would like to thank everyone involved in the Teddy Bear Hospital especially Aisling who made sure our trip to UCC was a success!
