Bookworms in 2nd Class

In 2nd Class we kicked off World Book week by making a list of the book each boy would like to receive. The 2 Haniels very kindly gathered and presented the information expertly!

On Monday we launched our book week with Ms Curran presenting the boys with their new books. They were so grateful and excited.

On Tuesday we made butterfly bookmarks, following on from our study of the lifecycle of a butterfly. On Thursday the boys took them home as Mother’s Day gifts.

On Wednesday the pupils dressed up as their favourite characters from books. Some boys really ‘thought outside the box’ and came up with very inventive and original costumes!

On Thursday the boys brought their favourite books from home. In groups of 4 they shared their reasons for choosing the particular book and discussed characters, setting and action. The boys then produced some excellent book reviews, providing great recommendations for other readers!

Finally, after all the discussions, reading and written activities, we had some chill time. Thanks to SNA Laura who visited us with all her beautiful instruments (drums, rain shaker, sound bowl etc) and treated us to an amazing relaxing experience. A great end to our Book Week!!!
