Last Wednesday the boys in our 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th classes enjoyed workshops with author and illustrator Celina Buckley. Reading, enjoyment of books and development of literacy skills is a key part of every school day here in Togher Boys, so it was such an enriching and interesting experience for the boys to hear about the work of an author and illustrator. The boys learned about character building and how to develop and create a picture book. The boys in our 1st and 2nd classes had great fun designing their own representations of the Salmon of Knowledge which they filled with all their own knowledge! The 3rd and 4th classes created and developed characters. Celina kindly gifted these classes a copy of her book; a retelling of ‘The Salmon of Knowledge’.
