Rhinoceros a big hit at Fota!

Second class boys were excited to find out more about the animals they saw as they explored Fota Wildlife Park on Tuesday. Ranger Gary shared lots of information, which helped to develop the boys’ understanding of different species. They also learned more about the concepts of extinction and habitats.

It was a great hands-on experience, with the boys even hunting for mini beasts in the wooded area.

While some boys loved the tall regal giraffes, and others were fascinated by the red panda and the performing gibbons, it was the rhinoceros mother and daughter duo that drew most attention from pupils on the day.
