There was great excitment in Togher Boys’ last week as we celebrated World Book Day! The aim of World Book Day is to encourage more children and families to find the fun and enjoyment in reading, because reading for pleasure changes lives.
Throughout the week the boys took part in fun activities that promoted reading and it was brilliant to see the buzz for reading around the school. The boys had the chance to; dress up as their favourite characters , enjoy campfire reading , go to a book tasting , walk to Waterstones to buy new books , take part in shared reading between infants & senior classes , read in the park and so much more. On Thursday the boys all received a new book from Children’s Books Ireland.
As a school we are very proud of the boys and the fantastic reading we hear every day!
