Monday was a very special day in Togher Boys’ as we were honoured to receive a visit from An Taoiseach, Micheál Martin. The Taoiseach called to chat to the boys about having a healthy lifestyle and check out some of our new playground equipment which was generously donated by Novo Nordisk. He spoke to the boys about the importance of exercising, being active and his own fond memories of playing sport in Togher. He explained to the boys that the best doctors in the world have told him that playing sports and doing exercise is the best medicine anyone could ever have. The boys then sang beautiful city for the Taoiseach which as a proud Cork man, he really enjoyed. Sincere thanks to An Taoiseach for taking the time to visit us and chat to the boys. We would also like to thank Novo Nordisk for their donation and helping us to be a healthy, active school.
