In first class we love finding connections between different areas of our learning.
Recently we learned all about the body. We chose it as our oral language topic and learned lots of new vocabulary. Then we wrote about it at the end of the week.
In Science we labelled the body parts. Then we discussed and recorded the various activities we can do and the body parts we use for each.
As Ghaeilge we learned all about the Corp (body) and we even performed a song called “Ceann, gualainn, glúin is cos, glúin is cos.” Bhí an-spórt againn!

We then discussed our bodies and how they have changed since we were babies as part of our History lesson. We were abled to trace a timeline of growth and activity to the present day. We had great fun chatting about our favourite toys when we were toddlers. It was funny when teacher told us her favourite was a blackboard and chalk!

Because we are all seven, or nearly seven, years of age now we were old enough to enjoy a visit on Tuesday from Togher Scouts Club. We learned cool skills like how to make catapults and how to build a safe campfire. We might need these skills as we get older.
