Seashells at the Seashore

First class enjoyed an exciting trip to Fountainstown Beach, where they used all their five senses to explore the coastline. They found colourful shells and stones of various shapes and sizes. They could smell the seaweed before they saw it! Birds were singing sweetly, waves were crashing onto the shore, swimmers were splashing and boys were shovelling sand to build castles. They climbed rocks where barnacles, periwinkles and crabs were spotted. We returned with a treasure trove of all things nautical for our nature table.
