Sixth class had a wonderful trip to Mitchelstown Cave today. We set off bright and early and had a very memorable day. We had been learning in class about the geography of limestone areas. We saw firsthand the cave formations-stalactites, stalagmites and pillars.
We had a great guide who pointed out the various formations. We also got to see the seismograph on the floor of the cave which can detect seismic movements around the world. It was a great educational experience and we rounded off the day with lunch in Mahon Point.
As usual the boys were a credit to their families and the school.
