Our 3rd class recently took part in a fantastic online creative writing workshop with the Museum of Literature Ireland (MOLI) as part of the MOLI in the Classroom project, led by Lily.
During the workshop, pupils explored their favourite characters, talked about a typical day in their own lives, and then let their imaginations run wild by combining the two. What would happen if a favourite book character joined them on an ordinary school day? The ideas that emerged were full of fun, surprises, and creativity, providing brilliant story starter ideas for future writing.
The children also took inspiration from James Joyce, learning how writers play with language. Inspired by Joyce’s love of words, they created their own imaginative and playful “Scribbledehobbles”.
It was an engaging and fun session that encouraged creativity, confidence, and a love of storytelling. Well done to our budding writers, we can’t wait to read more of their imaginative work!
