Over the past few weeks, Ms Mc Gloin’s Third Class have been exploring the fascinating topic of space in English and Geography. After learning about planets, stars, and the solar system, the boys took their learning to the next level through hands-on, active project work. The boys took their learning into their own hands becoming researchers, designers, and presenters!

Each boy chose a planet that interested him and carried out his own research. They used laptops to find interesting and reliable facts, and also explored books from our classroom library to deepen their understanding.
🎨Getting Creative
The creativity on display was truly outstanding. The boys were free to choose any materials they wished to design and create their own unique project, and every single one was different! Some boys designed, hidden pockets filled with fun space facts, fact cards that could be pulled out and read, brightly coloured posters and diagrams and even paper rockets ready for “launch”! It was wonderful to see such innovation, artistic flair, and attention to detail. The boys showed great independence and pride in their work.
Sharing Their Learning
Each boy presented his project to the class, confidently explaining what he had discovered. This helped to build presentation skills, confidence, and a deeper understanding of their chosen topic. We were delighted to welcome Ms Curran’s First Class to visit the classroom and view the projects. The boys did a fantastic job sharing their learning with the younger class, answering questions and explaining their work with enthusiasm.
