The Board of Management would like to thank everyone for their co-operation with the new rules for accessing the school building. The Parents Association and Mr Kelly met this morning and discussed some issues in relation to the new rules. The following actions will be taken:
- Junior Infant pupils with siblings in older classes: The older pupils may walk through the school from the Junior Infant corridor to their class. Sixth class pupils will be available to walk any pupils to their class from the Junior corridor. Ms Buckley will be available in this corridor also to assist any pupils getting to their classrooms.
- Church Car park: There is a concern that cars are parked in NO PARKING ZONES before school time and after school. This is creating a danger for the children in the Boys’ School, the Girls’ School and the pre-school. PLEASE DO NOT PARK IN these areas
- Church Car Park: The parents and the school are concerned that when pupils are walking through the car park between 8:35-8:50 and 14:30-14:45 that there is a large volume of cars driving in the car park at this time. We will discuss with the parish if there are ways that we can make it safer for the pupils between 8:35-8:50 and 14:30-14:45 in the car park. We would ask that people park further away from the school if possible at this time to reduce the number of cars. Also, extreme caution must be taken to ensure we prevent accidents during these times.
