Dear Parents and Boys ,
I hope you are all keeping well We would just like to say a huge thank you for all of the amazing efforts that you are going to at home. We understand how difficult it can be and we are sure that you are all being faced with various challenges. Keep up the great work. We are missing ye so much and no doubt you are all missing your friends!
It is great to hear from you on Teams or by email and thank you for sending on the pictures of your lovely work!!

Oral Language
Our theme this week is ‘The Supermarket’. click here

Here are a few suggestions to develop conversation:
- Name familiar supermarket items (e.g. potato, fruit, vegetables, etc).
- Use common pronouns (he, that, it) and prepositions (on, in, under, over) to describe what people might buy or where the items are in the supermarket.

- Read some stories to your son and ask him questions based on the story. Get him to retell you the story in his own words.
Tricky Words
- Please watch the videos below and practise/revise reading the following tricky words;

- Practise writing out the tricky words; are, me, my, you, your, come, some, by, like, have, live and give. (your child should recognise these words).
- Practise putting them into simple sentences orally.
- Play tricky word bingo- give your child a sheet with 6 of the tricky words on it, they should know the first 30, call out a selection of the words as you would in bingo and let your son find and cross off the words on his bingo card.
Handwriting
- Letters m & w . * Don’t forget to use the correct letter formation.
- Procedural Writing
- Encourage your child talk about the steps in making a sandwich, use words such as first, next, then, last.
- Write a simple version of what ye have discussed.
e.g. 1. First Butter two slices of bread.
2. Put the cheese in the bread, etc.
