The boys in Suaimhneas have been enjoying Sensory Play (or “Messy Play” as we call it in class) over the past few weeks. Sensory play is a play-form that allows the body to experience the world through the engagement of the senses; by touching, smelling, tasting, seeing, hearing and/or moving. This style of play can work to support children in stimulating or soothing their sensory systems in an engaging, fun and developmentally appropriate way.
