After 3 great group games against North Mon, Blarney Street and Scoil Íosagáin Faranree, our Sciath na Scol football team qualified for the Sciath na Scol semi final. This was a super achievement by the lads who have trained really hard at lunch times and after school since we returned from the summer holidays. The school hadn’t reached a semi final for a considerable period of time and the team certainly made the most of their opportunity as they played really well to defeat Scoil Ursuline, Blackrock.
This leaves us with the exciting prospect of being in a Sciath na Scol final against North Mon. The added bonus is that this game will be played in Páirc Uí Chaoimh which will be a great honour for the boys. The successful Barrs’ teams of recent times have been a great inspiration to boys in the school and now they will try to emulate them by winning a final in Páirc Uí Chaoimh.
