The boys in Junior and Senior Infants have been busy playing Maths games every Friday morning over the past term and recently had their parents join them for some Maths fun! Playing these games gives the boys a chance to practise their social skills and develop mathematical concepts such as shape recognition, number recognition, counting skills, and early mathematical skills of sorting and matching to name but a few of the numerous benefits.
As the dark evenings of winter close in and the holidays near, it is time to get the board and card games out at home. Hopefully the boys can teach their families some of the games we have practised in school. Lots of these games can be bought in Symths, Easons or in Bits and Bobs in Wilton shopping centre.
