Junior Infant News

Ms O’Dwyer’s Junior Infants have been very busy since returning to school after the Easter holidays! The boys have been making huge strides in their reading and writing and it is great to see how much their confidence is growing!

We celebrated World Book Day and the boys dressed up as characters from their favourite stories! The boys also got a book to take home with them! We love reading the series ‘The Large Family’ in the classroom and now the boys have their own copy to enjoy at home!

The boys also explored the topic of Weight in Maths and they enjoyed measuring a range of items in the classroom. They used their skills of estimation and then checked to see if their estimations were correct!

We have also been taking part in the school’s running challenge, which has been organised by the Active Schools Committee and the boys in have been trying really hard to run laps of the yard! Their fitness is improving by the day and we are looking forward to continuing this throughout the month of May!
