Third class had an amazing trip to Spike Island and the Titanic Experience. It started off with a bus trip to Cóbh where we boarded our ferry. The ferry brought us to Spike Island. It was a beautiful day to be out on the water and it was a great experience for us all as some had never been on a boat. It was nice to see Cóbh from a different angle also. Once we arrived at Spike Island we were greeted by our guide, Euan. He was very knowledgeable and taught us lots of new facts about Spike Island. We had great fun looking around at all the different parts of the prison. We had some lunch and a play in the playground also.
After lunch we explored more of the prison and even got to see some old cells. We completed an orienteering challenge in teams around the prison which was great fun. We were lucky enough that our guide brought us through some tunnels in the prison which was very interesting for us to see. After all of that fun we walked back down to our ferry to head back to Cóbh.
When we reached Cóbh we went to the promenade for some lunch in the sun. Then we visited the Titanic Experience. When we arrived we were all given a boarding pass and we had to keep that until the end of the tour to find out if we had survived the Titanic or not. We had a great time in the Experience.
Overall we had a great day which was made even better by the sun shining all day long for us to enjoy our trip.
