September in Junior Infants with Ms. O’Donoghue

Ms. O’Donoghue was delighted to welcome 19 new Junior Infant boys to her class this year at Togher Boys’ National School! All of the boys have settled in very well and are getting used to the long day in school. They are all enjoying playing together and making new friends and have adapted very quickly to the classroom routine.

The Junior Infants have been busy bees with literacy activities, learning lots of new sounds and practising their nursery rhymes! The boys love engaging with the multi-sensory ‘sound of the week’ station and reading garden and they all helped to put poor old Humpty Dumpty back together again!

In Maths, we loved learning about colours and making our very own mosiac coloured rainbow to help with our fine motor skills. We learned a beautiful song to help us remember the colours too!

We also did lots of colouring, matching and sorting activities using concrete materials in our maths stations. The stations are a great way for the boys to experience a multitude of sensory learning experiences with maths. Here are some of the maths stations we engaged with in September.

Thanks for visiting, and make sure to check in with us again for updates on the Junior Infants!
