English Reading

‘The Fun Park’

Mon-Thurs: pg. 42-45 (one page per day)

I have included a video below of me reading the story. As the boys get more comfortable with reading the words in the book, challenge them to put expression into their reading also! Another focus point could be ensuring they do a short pause at a comma, and a slightly longer pause at a full stop.

Maths

Busy at Maths: pg. 155-158 (one page a day for four days)

This week we move on to subtraction of tens and units. It is very important that to point out that the tens are in one column and the units are in another. Is is also very important to ensure that the units are subtracted first, and then the tens.

I’ve included two video tutorials to help with this week’s maths. One is on subtraction of tens and units, while the other is on the topic of time. I hope they are of some help!

Mental Maths: One column per day. Answers included on last page.

S.E.S.E.

Continuing with our beach theme, this week we will learn about natural and man-made features of the beach. I’m sure many of you will have seen these in real life before! Watch the video slideshow and then complete the attached worksheet.

Features of the Beach

Stay Safe

This week we revise the first lesson on ‘Touches’. First think about touches we like (e.g. a hug from our parents, a high five) and touches we don’t like (e.g. a punch, a kick). Then discuss the scenarios presented on the first sheet, and what the students could do if they were in these situations. The Stay Safe rule of ‘Say no, get away and tell an adult you trust’ is on the second page.

Religion

This week, we continue the creation story, moving on to how God created human beings. We are all special and unique.

The first page of the worksheet asks the boys to interview a friend, asking them the questions on the page. However, maybe some of the boys might like to answer those questions about themselves and post their responses on the Forum Page of Microsoft Teams this week so their friends in the class can see/take down their answers!
