We have had such a busy month here in First Class. I couldn’t be prouder of the boys and their fantastic attitude to their work on a daily basis. I really am the luckiest teacher in the world. Here are a few of the topics we have been covering.
Winter Art
We have been focusing on the technique of printing this month. We created some fantastic winter art pieces using a fork and sponge print. We also made some super snowmen. Watch out Picasso, there are some amazing artists on their way.
Procedural Writing
Procedural Writing is our whole school theme this term. We wrote recipes for making pizza and Rice Krispie Buns.What better way to learn about it than to make it. The excitement was clear to see.
Cloud in a jar experiment
We were learning all about the weather this month. We made a cloud in a jar using hair spray and ice.
Maths Work
We have been learning all about tens and units, number stories and 3D shapes this month. We used cubes to help us. We also made shapes using cocktail sticks and mini marshmallows.
Buachaill na Seachtaine
Well done to the boys who won Buachaill na Seachtaine this month. Teacher is so proud of you.
