Feast of Our Lady of Lourdes.

In class this week we were learning about St.Bernadette. Bernadette Soubirous was a young girl who had religious visions at Lourdes,France. During 1858 she said she saw the Virgin Mary 18 times.

Today Friday February 11 , we celebrate the feast day of Our Lady of Lourdes marking the anniversary of the first vision. Second and sixth classes attended mass this morning where four boys from sixth class carried the statue of Our Lady of Lourdes into the church before mass .

It was just like being in Lourdes as the second class boys waved at the statue as it passed by. We now know a lot about St Bernadette and some of us may visit Lourdes when we are in Transition Year in our secondary schools where we may work as volunteers to help those less fortunate than ourselves.
