Dear Parents
I would like to start this week by commending you all on the wonderful job you are doing with your child during this surreal time. The collaboration between home and school has been so strong and I thank you for your support. If you feel that the work load is too much, please just take from it what your child can do. I hope that you are all well and keeping safe. As always I say a ‘big hello’ to the boys. I miss them all! The theme for our work this week is ‘Insects’. I know the boys will enjoy this topic. I have made 2 more videos for the maths lesson. Again the children will be learning about subtraction with renaming. If you wish to contact me at any stage, I am available via email and on Microsoft Teams.
Thanking You
Ms. O’Sullivan.

SPHE:Topic – Friendship
Children explore the value of friendship, making and keeping friends and the importance of treating one another with respect and dignity. Ask your son to talk about what it is that makes someone a friend, for example, someone who plays with him, shares their toys with him, likes doing the same things he likes to do. Record the characteristics he comes up with and then your son can decorate the page.
Music – Link with SPHE
The boys loved listening to this song “Count on Me” by Bruno Mars. It is a song about being a good friend. I know they will enjoy hearing and singing along to it again. It is TR5 in the video link below.

Religion
Last week, the children learned about what happened at the Last Supper. Jesus took the bread and wine, blessed them and shared them with his friends. While they were at supper, Jesus washed his followers’ feet. He told them that they should do for others as he had done for them.
Chat to your child about how he can show love to others following the example of Jesus. Answer the worksheet below. (Grow in Love page 35).
Revise the Prayer before Communion.
Lord Jesus, come to me.
Lord Jesus, give me your love.
Lord Jesus, come to me and give me yourself.
Lord Jesus, friend of children, come to me.
Lord Jesus, you are my Lord and my God.
Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.
