On Friday, May 12 sixth class went to UCC for the campus tour. We got a tour of the campus and our guide outlined the history and beginnings of the college to us. We visited the Crawford Observatory and were fascinated by the telescopes on display there. They are wonderful feats of engineering. We visited the beautiful Honan Chapel and were most impressed by the decor.
We put on replica conferring robes and had a mock conferring ceremony where we were all presented with a scroll and had our photo taken. Finally we had lunch in the student canteen and we look forward to returning to study here in the not too distant future.
We wound up our day in Fitzgerald’s Park and enjoyed basking in the beautiful sunshine. We played a soccer game against Sunday’s Well School and were delighted when we won.
A great day was had by all and we are looking forward to our next trip out.
