Third Class went on a seashore safari to Fountainstown.

Yesterday both third classes went to Fountainstown. We had the best day investigating what creatures live in the rock pools there. We had great fun searching in the rock pools with our buckets and nets. We saw some amazing creatures like three different species of crabs, prawns, different small fish, sea snails, periwinkles, different types of seaweed and some anemones. We also made some rock cairns on the beach and had some fun looking for rocks of different shapes and sizes. The sunshine made the whole day even better. We were learning so much new information about the seashore that we never knew before which has made us more excited to visit the beach during the Summer holidays with our families to show them what we learned. The day was topped off with a picnic on the beach and a stop off in the playground in Carrigaline on the way home. We went home exhausted but had the best day ever!
